ICC Now Has a Certified Dangerous Goods Advisor
Mississauga, ON—July 13, 2007—ICC The Compliance Center Inc. is pleased to announce that Senior Regulatory Consultant Barbara Foster is now a certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA).
The DGSA designation was awarded by the Scottish Qualifications Authority. It indicates that Ms. Foster has passed rigorous examinations in the European Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road, or ADR. European regulations require companies packing, loading or carrying dangerous goods to have such certified advisors appointed to minimize the risks of transporting dangerous goods (hazardous materials).
Now, with a certified advisor on staff, ICC can now provide improved service to customers who ship to, from or through Europe. Note that the requirements of the ADR may often vary significantly from those in North America, and a DGSA can help sort out many problems an exporter may have.
Of course, ICC also can provide information on shipping by ground in North America under the various national regulations such as 49 CFR and Canad's Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulations, shipment by ocean under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) and by air under the ICAO Technical Instructions and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
