The latest version of the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods has introduced a new marking for goods classed as Marine Pollutants.
This mark is currently authorized under 49 CFR; it will become mandatory effective January 14, 2010. The IMDG Code implemented this marking for Marine Pollutants on January 1, 2009; it becomes mandatory January 1, 2010.
- Screen Printed Self-Stick Vinyl
These screen-printed vinyl placards are commonly used on dedicated vehicles and do not require a placard holder. Permanent self-adhesive placards are durable and weather resistant with a permanent adhesive backing for a lasting use on equipment and containers. These placards have a 5 year outdoor life.
- Tagboard (TB)
These non-adhesive placards are manufactured from wax coated board material. Tagboard placards are very economical and are commonly used when return of the placard is not possible. These placards are guaranteed to last up to 60 days in all weather conditions. Generally used with a placard holder.
