Davco Consultants has been providing training services to meet the requirements of the Federal/Provincial Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS legislation since 1989. The company is centrally located in Eastern Ontario in Napanee, midway between Belleville and Kingston.
Davco Consultants frequently provides training for government agencies including Corrections Canada, Environment Canada, Royal Military College, Alcan Chemicals and area fire departments as well as major employers such as Invista, Cameco, Johnson & Johnson, Stoncor etc.
The owner and instructor is J.D. (Dave) Brunton CD who was a member of the Ontario Provincial Police Dangerous Goods Enforcement Unit until his retirement in 2000. He was also a designated Transport Canada inspector for off-highway enforcement in Ontario.
From 1990 to 2000 Dave represented the Province of Ontario on the Transport Canada Federal/Provincial/Territorial task force on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods in Canada. During this period he was a member of the committee which re-wrote the regulations into what is now known as the "Clear Language" version.
Transportation of Dangerous Goods courses are usually provided on-site at a reasonable cost to the employer In this way, the employees train together in their environment and more information is shared during classroom discussions. The course is designed particular for their needs as it relates to the regulations.
