Easy to Learn, Easy to Use!
With BarTender and Hazcom, a few quick mouse motions are all it takes to combine bar codes, health and safety text and graphics into professional-quality chemical-safety labels.

Exceptional Design Flexibility
BarTender gives you total control over your label's appearance, including the type and size of text, bar codes and graphics.

Toolbox and Components
Variable regulatory information stored in our Hazcom database can be added to a label design in seconds. Simply open the correct folder and "drag" the variable from the Components section of BarTender's toolbox onto a label design. All 560 Hazcom variables are logically stored in Component folders for easy retrieval. You can even create your own components consisting of commonly used variables and graphics.

Product Information

Hazcom 4.0 provides a generous number of fields to identify your product, including two user-defined fields.

Advanced Search and Filtering
Allow quick retrieval of product records based on code, name, descriptions and category.

Shipping Description Library
Universally required information and symbols from 49 CFR, TDG and the IMDG code, such as shipping name, technical name, hazard class, UN number and packing group.

Shipping Tab Descriptions
Stored in a user-updateable library. Descriptions can be assigned to all products. Wording for descriptions can be selected to comply with UN Recommendations.

Assigning Risk & Safety Phrases

One of the most important features in any high-quality chemical labeling software is how efficiently it handles multilingual phrase maintenance and selection. Hazcom comes loaded with approximately 2000 translations for North American and European risk and safety phrases. With the addition of all WHMIS symbols and many phrases that are translated into French and Spanish, you can easily satisfy your North American requirements, including Canada and Mexico. You can even customize field labels for all 4 risk phrases and general phrases to accommodate your companies' additional information requirements.

HMIS® and Ingredient Disclosure

Many companies include the optional color-coded HMIS® workplace labeling system on their supplier labels. Hazcom conveniently provides an area to include the rating and personal protective code. The protective code is linked to pictograms that are displayed below and can be printed on your labels.

Select Ingredient
The ability to mention specific hazardous ingredients in your product is essential, as more state and international regulations are requiring disclosure of these ingredients based on known health or environmental hazards. Hazcom has a user-updatable library of CAS numbers and chemical names that can be searched using key words.

User Text & Graphics

The ability to manage all the regulatory requirements for labels effectively is a prerequisite of any good chemical labeling software. Hazcom again is ahead of its competitors in the way it manages additional user-de. ned text and graphics that may be needed for:

• Product mixing or blending instructions
• instructions for user
• Marketing information
• Disclaimers etc.

This information must be handled as efficiently as regulatory text.

Graphics
Adding Graphics Hazcom allows up to 6 additional user-defined graphics to be added to a product record. Most graphic formats are acceptable.

European Labels

If you are currently exporting hazardous materials to EU member countries, or if it is part of your future marketing plan, then Hazcom has you covered. If you don't have the expertise to generate the text, ICC's regulatory staff can assist you.

Phrases are assigned to the appropriate section in Hazcom, allowing quick searches of phrases when assigning them to products. This also allows for easy updating of phrase lists as phrases can be sorted according to their use.

When phrases are deleted, a global search of all records affected by that deletion is made, and the user is given the opportunity to cancel the action.

Reporting

Hazcom offers a wide range of reporting capabilities on libraries and product information. Using advanced queries and Crystal Reports the user can produce dozens of reports to assist in analyzing their label data.

Since different departments are responsible for various components of a label, the reporting tool offers an effective way to extract data that can be sent to the people responsible for its accuracy.
