Whether its movies, music, sports teams, or restaurants. However some top ten lists aren\u2019t based on entertainment value and taste, some are based on more serious topics. As the year comes to a close, the National Safety Council and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced the preliminary Top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety violations for the 2019 fiscal year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once again, Fall Protection \u2013 General Requirements is OSHA\u2019s most frequently cited standard in the most cited violations of 2019. This makes nine years in a row that Fall Protections has topped this list. Although there is some good news with that as the number of citations for fall protection was 7,720 last year and dropped down to 6,010 for the 2019 fiscal year. The rest of the preliminary list of OSHA\u2019s Top 10 violations for the fiscal year 2019 also remained mostly the same from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.safetyandhealthmagazine.com\/articles\/17702-oshas-top-10-most-cited-violations-for-fiscal-year-2017\">last<\/a>\u00a0year, with only one minor change. Lockout\/Tagout, which was ranked No. 5 in 2018, is now No. 4, switching places with Respiratory Protection. Below is the 2019 most cited violations per OSHA.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Fall Protection \u2013 General Requirements (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1926\/1926.501\">1926.501<\/a>): 6,010 violations<\/li>\r\n<li>Hazard Communication (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/pls\/oshaweb\/owadisp.show_document?p_id=10099&amp;p_table=STANDARDS\">1910.1200<\/a>): 3,671<\/li>\r\n<li>Scaffolding (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1926\/1926.451\">1926.451<\/a>): 2,813<\/li>\r\n<li>Lockout\/Tagout (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/pls\/oshaweb\/owadisp.show_document?p_id=9804&amp;p_table=STANDARDS\">1910.147<\/a>): 2,606<\/li>\r\n<li>Respiratory Protection (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/pls\/oshaweb\/owadisp.show_document?p_id=12716&amp;p_table=standards\">1910.134<\/a>): 2,450<\/li>\r\n<li>Ladders (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1926\/1926.1053\">1926.1053<\/a>): 2,345<\/li>\r\n<li>Powered Industrial Trucks (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1910\/1910.178\">1910.178<\/a>): 2,093<\/li>\r\n<li>Fall Protection \u2013 Training Requirements (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1926\/1926.503\">1926.503<\/a>): 1,773<\/li>\r\n<li>Machine Guarding (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/pls\/oshaweb\/owadisp.show_document?p_id=9836&amp;p_table=STANDARDS\">1910.212<\/a>): 1,743<\/li>\r\n<li>Personal Protective and Lifesaving Equipment \u2013 Eye and Face Protection (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.osha.gov\/laws-regs\/regulations\/standardnumber\/1926\/1926.102\">1926.102<\/a>): 1,411<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the top ten may fluctuate slightly on a year to year basis, it is alarming that practically the same ten violations and almost the same amount of violations are appearing over and over again.
