There is a 70-day comment period.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Under this amendment, Canadian shippers who handle, offer for transport, transport, or import dangerous goods must be registered in this new database as shippers of dangerous goods.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In addition, the government of Canada is transitioning to a new online submission of comments. This will allow full transparency of comments made during the regulatory process.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">What will this mean for you?<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">When these regulations are published in <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Canada Gazette<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"none\">, Part II, the registration database application will be available online on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tc.canada.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Transport Canada\u2019s website<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">When registering, the following information will be required:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the business name;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the address and contact information;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the name of a point of contact;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the address(es) of the Site(s) where DG activities are conducted;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the type of activity taking place at the Site (import, offer for transport, handle for purposes of transport, or transport);<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the classes and divisions of all dangerous goods; and<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the mode(s) of transport (road, rail, marine or air) involved for each Site.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Those with higher risk dangerous goods will also be required to report the following:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the UN number;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the Emergency Response Assistance Plan (ERAP) number of the approved ERAP;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the quantity range in the previous year; and<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">the number of consignments in the previous year.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The following information will need to be confirmed or updated annually:<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">administrative information;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">mode of transport;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559739&quot;:160}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"none\">classes and divisions of dangerous goods;
