Let\u2019s say you have an inner packaging filled with dangerous goods that you are looking to ship. When you visit our website and look at our <\/span>UN stock packaging<\/span><\/a> options, you don\u2019t see a tested design that would fit your needs. What can you do? Well, in this case, custom UN packaging may be the best option for your specific needs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Custom Packaging? <\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When using 4G UN packaging, it is important to choose a packaging design that was tested with the same type of inner container that you are looking to ship. For example, if you were looking to ship a metal gallon paint can with a ringlok, you would choose one of our gallon paint can shippers from our website. Per the 49CFR and TP14850, when using a 4G box you must make sure you follow the manufacturer\u2019s closing instructions, which would tell you what type of inner container would be compliant as well as the assembly information. However, there are times when you may have an inner packaging that doesn\u2019t really fit the mold of any of our stock items, and you may choose a 4GV packaging because you are allowed to vary the inner container. If you are okay with using the required absorbent\/cushioning in the 4GV boxes, usually <\/span>vermiculite<\/span><\/a> or an <\/span>absorbent pouch<\/span><\/a>, problem solved. If you aren\u2019t interested in using absorbent\/cushioning, 4GV packaging wouldn\u2019t be an option for you, and that\u2019s when custom packaging would come into play.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the Benefits of Custom Packaging?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The benefit of custom packaging is that we can specifically test a design using your inner components, inserts, or whatever type of cushioning you choose. This means you can choose the specific configuration you would like tested in your custom 4G box. In addition, if you would like to have a specific logo printed on the outside of the custom box, that is an option as well. We will make sure the custom UN packaging is designed and tested in compliance with the various domestic and international regulations and when the packaging is produced, we will make sure your UN boxes are capable of passing the cobb testing and meets the board grade combination requirements (See articles below for details)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
