Whether it be in our homes or at our business.<\/p>\n<p>One *source suggests that the global lithium-ion battery market size will reach 135.1 billion USD by 2031. The growth is expected in renewable energy and electric vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>These batteries must travel from the manufacturer to businesses and consumers. The latest version is based on the provisions set out in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecompliancecenter.com\/ca\/product-category\/publications\/icao\/\">2023-2024 edition of the ICAO (ICAO Technical Instructions for the<\/a> Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecompliancecenter.com\/ca\/product-category\/publications\/iata\/\">64<sup>th<\/sup> Edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The Document provides guidance for complying with provisions regarding the transportation of lithium (ion and metal) by air.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the changes in the 2023 edition include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clarification of the lithium battery test summary requirements<\/li>\n<li>Updated classification flow charts for both Lithium-ion and Lithium-metal<\/li>\n<li>Reference to the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecompliancecenter.com\/ca\/product-category\/labels\/lithium-batteries-labels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lithium Battery Mark<\/a>, without the telephone number<\/li>\n<li>Updated and New Q&amp;A\/FAQ<\/li>\n<li>Clarification of the edition of the UN Manual and Criteria to be referenced for the testing of lithium batteries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note that this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecompliancecenter.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/03\/IATA-2023_lithium-battery-guide.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guidance Document<\/a> does not replace training required.
