The top 10 most frequently cited standards for the fiscal year 2023 (Oct. 1, 2022, to Sept. 30, 2023) are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall Protection, construction (29 CFR 1926.501) \u2013 7121 violations<\/li>\n<li>Hazard Communication, general industry (29 CFR 1910.1200) \u2013 3213 violations<\/li>\n<li>Ladders, construction (29 CFR 1926.1053) \u2013 2978 violations<\/li>\n<li>Scaffolding, construction (29 CFR 1926.451) \u2013 2859 violations<\/li>\n<li>Powered Industrial Trucks, general industry (29 CFR 1910.178) \u2013 2561 violations<\/li>\n<li>Lockout\/tagout, general industry (29 CFR 1910.147) \u2013 2554 violations<\/li>\n<li>Respiratory Protection, general industry (29 CFR 1910.134) \u2013 2481 violations<\/li>\n<li>Fall Protection Training, construction (29 CFR 1926.503) \u2013 2112 violations<\/li>\n<li>Eye and Face Protection, construction (29 CFR 1926.102) \u2013 2074 violations<\/li>\n<li>Machinery and Machine Guarding, general industry (29 CFR 1910.212) \u2013 1644 violations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is important to note that the order of the top 10 violations changes yearly, but the same violations appear year after year.<\/p>\n<p>Employers can take several steps to avoid the OSHA top 10 violations.
