Toutefois, bien qu\u2019elles soient essentielles au fonctionnement de nos appareils, elles pr\u00e9sentent aussi des risques de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 particuliers lorsqu\u2019elles sont transport\u00e9es \u00e0 bord d\u2019un a\u00e9ronef. La Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) a r\u00e9cemment publi\u00e9 une Safety Alert for Operators (SAFO), soit une alerte de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019intention des exploitants, soulignant les dangers potentiels et les pratiques exemplaires pour g\u00e9rer les piles au lithium dans les cabines passagers.<\/p>\n<p>La SAFO compl\u00e8te se trouve <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecompliancecenter.com\/ca\/product\/pk-51spvf\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ICI<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Pourquoi les piles au lithium exigent une attention particuli\u00e8re<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Les piles au lithium peuvent constituer des sources d\u2019inflammation. Dans de rares cas, elles peuvent subir un emballement thermique, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire une augmentation incontr\u00f4l\u00e9e et autoentretenue de la pression et de la temp\u00e9rature pouvant mener \u00e0 un incendie. Comme les passagers rangent souvent ces piles dans les compartiments \u00e0 bagages sup\u00e9rieurs ou dans leurs bagages de cabine, elles peuvent \u00eatre cach\u00e9es et difficiles d\u2019acc\u00e8s. Tout retard dans la d\u00e9tection d\u2019un emballement thermique peut aggraver la gravit\u00e9 d\u2019un incident, ce qui rend essentielle une gestion ad\u00e9quate des risques.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Recommandations de la FAA \u00e0 l\u2019intention des exploitants<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>La FAA souligne que les transporteurs a\u00e9riens et les exploitants devraient adopter des processus rigoureux de gestion des risques li\u00e9s \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9, conform\u00e9ment \u00e0 la sous-partie C de la partie 5 du 14 CFR. Cela comprend l\u2019identification des dangers potentiels associ\u00e9s aux piles au lithium et la mise en \u0153uvre de strat\u00e9gies d\u2019att\u00e9nuation. Voici ce que les exploitants sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 faire :<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Examiner et am\u00e9liorer la gestion des risques<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Identifier tous les dangers potentiels li\u00e9s au transport de piles au lithium dans les cabines passagers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Tenir compte des emplacements de rangement qui peuvent ne pas \u00eatre visibles ou facilement accessibles, comme les compartiments \u00e0 bagages sup\u00e9rieurs.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Mettre \u00e0 jour les proc\u00e9dures de lutte contre les incendies<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Former l\u2019\u00e9quipage afin qu\u2019il puisse reconna\u00eetre les diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tapes d\u2019un emballement thermique d\u2019une pile au lithium, de la fum\u00e9e aux flammes.<br \/>\n\u2022 \u00c9valuer l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9quipement de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u00e0 bord \u2014 extincteurs, sources d\u2019eau et dispositifs de confinement.<br \/>\n\u2022 Revoir les proc\u00e9dures visant \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les risques d\u2019inhalation de fum\u00e9e pour les passagers et l\u2019\u00e9quipage.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Sensibiliser les passagers et l\u2019\u00e9quipage<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Communiquer clairement ce que sont les piles au lithium, o\u00f9 on les trouve et les risques associ\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019emballement thermique.<br \/>\n\u2022 Encourager les passagers \u00e0 transporter les piles au lithium dans des endroits visibles et accessibles.<br \/>\n\u2022 Fournir des directives sur la manutention et le rangement s\u00e9curitaires, par exemple prot\u00e9ger les bornes, \u00e9viter d\u2019\u00e9craser les piles et les ranger dans des sacs de plastique ou des \u00e9tuis de protection.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demander aux passagers d\u2019aviser imm\u00e9diatement l\u2019\u00e9quipage si une pile commence \u00e0 surchauffer ou \u00e0 d\u00e9gager de la fum\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Intervention efficace en cas d\u2019emballement thermique<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Les outils traditionnels de lutte contre les incendies, comme les extincteurs au halon, peuvent supprimer temporairement les flammes, mais ils ne peuvent pas arr\u00eater une r\u00e9action d\u2019emballement thermique. La FAA souligne que de grandes quantit\u00e9s d\u2019eau constituent la m\u00e9thode la plus efficace pour refroidir la pile et pr\u00e9venir toute aggravation de la situation. Une formation ad\u00e9quate de l\u2019\u00e9quipage est essentielle afin d\u2019assurer une intervention rapide et efficace en cas d\u2019incendie caus\u00e9 par une pile au lithium.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Ressources suppl\u00e9mentaires de la FAA<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Les exploitants sont encourag\u00e9s \u00e0 consulter les lignes directrices existantes de la FAA, notamment :<\/p>\n<p>AC 120-92 : Syst\u00e8mes de gestion de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour les fournisseurs de services a\u00e9ronautiques<br \/>\nAC 120-80 : Lutte contre les incendies g\u00e9n\u00e9raux et les incendies \u00e0 haute \u00e9nergie en vol<br \/>\nSAFO (Safety Alert for Operators) publi\u00e9s ant\u00e9rieurement concernant le transport des batteries au lithium et les proc\u00e9dures de lutte contre les incendies<\/p>\n<p>Vid\u00e9os de formation sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des transporteurs a\u00e9riens portant sur la lutte contre les incendies li\u00e9s aux appareils \u00e9lectroniques portatifs (ressource de la FAA)<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Assurer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du transport a\u00e9rien<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Bien que les incidents mettant en cause des piles au lithium \u00e0 bord des a\u00e9ronefs soient rares, les risques sont bien r\u00e9els. Les transporteurs a\u00e9riens et les exploitants doivent prendre des mesures proactives, allant de la r\u00e9vision des proc\u00e9dures de lutte contre les incendies \u00e0 la sensibilisation des passagers et de l\u2019\u00e9quipage.
