NIAGARA FALLS, New York—October 10, 2006—For many truckers, driving is a daily task and picking up packages from customers seems ordinary. Signing a shipping document, and loading the package onboard hardly seems a difficult task. However, for packages containing dangerous goods, ordinary is miles away.
These packages require special marks, labels and packaging that identify them as containing hazardous contents. Government regulations then require carriers of these packages to obtain shipping documents, and mark the transport unit accordingly. With proper training, carriers can identify what packages meet regulations and make safe, informed decisions about accepting the packages onboard.
ICC Compliance Center is introducing an online Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Web-based Training program, based on the TDG Act & Regulations. Ground shippers and truckers are encouraged to take this program to ensure packages are marked, labeled, packaged and documented for road transport. At ICC, we specialize in dangerous goods transportation, health and safety consulting, and label printing. We offer a wide range of transportation accessories and regulatory services.
