In United States workplaces, there is a set of regulations that must be adhered to. That set of regulations is known as OSHA, or Occupational Safety & Health Administration. The goal of OSHA is to protect workers and ensure safety at the workplace. To effectively do this, there are three key elements: labels, safety data sheets (SDSs), and training.

OSHA and ANSI Labels
On an OSHA and/or ANSI label, there are several pieces of information that must appear. When combined, this information results in a compliant label under OSHA regulations. These labels must be affixed to drums, pails, bottles and other containers. Do you know what those pieces of information consist of?
Under the United States Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), there are clear responsibilities to the supplier of hazardous products, and the employer. Labeling, hazard communication via SDSs, and training are mandatory aspects of this regulation. Whether you are a chemical supplier, employer, importer or a person involved in the daily use or handling of these products, you must know about OSHA.
OSHA labels and safety data sheets must be provided in accordance to regulation. These two key elements combine to provide a powerful and effective hazard communication tool. We, at ICC Compliance Center can help you in many aspects of OSHA compliance, and several other regulations including; ICAO/IATA, IMDG, WHMIS, 49CFR, TDG and GHS.
