	49 CFR (DOT)	The 49 CFR publications are issued by the US Department of Transportation and govern the shipping of hazardous materials in all modes of transportation – air, road, rail, and sea.
	ADR	This agreement is intended to increase the safety of international transport of dangerous goods by road. It contains the conditions under which dangerous goods, when authorized for transport, may be carried internationally.
	Emergency Response Guidebook (ERG)	This guidebook is a joint effort involving the transportation agencies of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
	FMCSR	The Interstate Commerce Commission was created by the Motor Carrier Act of 1935 and has since been responsible to develop and enforce safety regulations in the trucking industry.
	Globally Harmonized System (GHS)	Proposes standard hazard communication elements such as labels and safety data sheets. Countries, international organizations, chemical producers and users can all benefit from the harmonization of hazard communications.

	ICAO	The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is dedicated to developing safe and efficient international air transport for peaceful purposes and ensuring a reasonable opportunity for every country to operate international airlines.
	IMDG Code	The IMDG Code is in conjunction with government regulations under the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea and was developed as a uniform international code for the transport of dangerous goods by sea.
